Preston Strother: The One To Watch

With a resumé like 12-year-old Preston Strother's, it's a wonder he has time to do anything but study and work and yet somehow this Texas native still enjoys the thrills of being a young boy. From playing his video games, which he says he plays "a lot" to suiting up for his school football team, Strother is just trying to be a normal kid with a fun job!

He got his acting start in Dallas, TX at four years old where he performed at the Dallas Children's Theatre. He was eventually set up with an agent and his career took off from there, booking his first job, a Lowe's commercial.

Strother has been in countless TV shows, including ELI STONE, BROTHERS & SISTERS, CRIMINAL MINDS and Nickelodeon's BRAINSURGE. He's also had parts in An American Girl: Chrissa Stands Strong, The Final Destination, What Would Jesus Do and most recently, OLIVER'S GHOST.

In Hallmark Channel's OLIVER'S GHOST, Strother plays Tony, the bully who pushes around Oliver, the new kid in school. The movie follows Oliver (Nicholas Stargel) and his family as they move into a haunted house in the town. "Oliver goes into the attic and meets a ghost. The ghost is mean to him and tries to scare [Oliver] and his family out of the house," explained Strother. "Oliver becomes friends with [the ghost] and they help each other with their problems." And eventually Tony redeems himself. Said Strother, "Towards the end he sees that Oliver is getting hurt by this [bullying] so he becomes his friend." It's a tale of friendship with some haunting hijinks! If you didn't catch OLIVER'S GHOST when it premiered on October 22, look for it's next airing on Hallmark. One thing you may not know about Strother is that he got to spend time with that big green and purple dinosaur we all know and love! "When I was younger one of the first jobs I'd done was Barney. My name was Peter and I couldn't read so I didn't have any words!" exclaimed Strother. The most fun he has had was when he was on Nick's BRAINSURGE. "I loved that! I got to the final round but I lost to this kid who went on to win the whole thing."

With a dream co-star like Johnny Depp, this young new star certainly has his work cut out for him but with so much experience already under his belt, Strother is sure to succeed! If you want to keep up with what he's working on next visit his Facebook page. We'll certainly be keeping an eye on him!
